ELSA
Elsa is the main character of Lohengrin, the sixth opera by 19th century German composer Richard Wagner. The work is a three-act opera written, composed and staged in the period 1845-1848. The subject of the work is based on the mythical “knight with the swan” story in medieval Germany, and this mythical story is in the work of Lohengr, whose author is unknown. Wagner started this work in Marienbad, where he went for rest and vacation in 1845, with the advice of his doctor, and finished the work in 1848. The premiere was held in Weimar in 1850.

TROYA
Troy; It is an epic opera in two acts, composed by Bujor Hoinic and its libretto was written by Artun Hoinic, the composer’s son, which was commissioned to Romanian composer and conductor Bujor Hoinic due to the twentieth anniversary of Troy’s entry into the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, declaring 2018 the “Year of Troy” in Turkey. The work is the first Turkish opera written by a foreigner. In addition, Troy was staged at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow on April 8, 2019, due to the opening of the “Turkey-Russia Mutual Culture and Tourism Year”, making it the “first Turkish opera staged in the Bolshoi”.

NABUCCO
Nabucco is an Italian-language opera in four acts composed in 1841 by Giuseppe Verdi to an Italian libretto by Temistocle Solera. In 1840, towards the end of a brutal two-year period during which both of his infant children and then his 26-year-old wife died, Verdi was persuaded by Merelli to change his mind and to write an opera with Temistocle Solera’s libretto. The opera that Verdi prepared according to this libretto was Nabucco.

Elektra is a one-act opera by Richard Strauss, to a German-language libretto by Hugo von Hofmannsthal, which he adapted from his 1903 drama Elektra. While based on ancient Greek mythology and Sophocles’ tragedy Electra, the opera is highly modernist and expressionist in style. The opera was the first of many collaborations between Strauss and Hofmannsthal. It was first performed at the Königliches Opernhaus in Dresden on 25 January 1909.

La Traviata is an opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi set to an Italian libretto by Francesco Maria Piave. It is based on La Dame aux camélias, a play by Alexandre Dumas fils adapted from his own 1848 novel. La Traviata is an intimate, domestic opera that focuses exclusively on characters who look and act like those present at its premiere. In fact, Verdi went so far as to demand the opera be staged in modern dress, further blurring the lines between audiences and onstage characters.
