Thanks to the process of photocatalysis, in the presence of natural or artificial light and moisture, pollutants are converted into salts that are harmless to the human body. More efficient and powerful, Active is able to break down basic pollutants (NOx, VOCs, etc.) in a more efficient and impactful way thanks to the use of digital manufacturing technology that allows a more homogeneous distribution of titanium dioxide in the surface of the ceramic tile. In addition, the presence of silver on TiO2 (a patented product) allows Active to be effective even in LED lighting.
Self-cleaning action

Action against odors
The odor is caused by molecules of a certain composition, the presence of which is perceived by the nose and recognized as an odor.
Odor, however, is a very difficult parameter to measure because it reflects the property of a particular substance that stimulates the human olfactory system. The smell can be both pleasant and unpleasant, strong or barely noticeable, but an odorless environment is always preferable in both private and public spaces.
Active is able to break down the basic molecules responsible for odor in a more efficient way thanks to the use of digital technology. Active Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic ™ turned GranitiFiandre tiles into an exceptional eco-active, non-polluting and antibacterial material. In fact, Active interacts with the environment by reducing pollutants such as nitrous oxide and sulfur oxide by up to 70%. They are generated either by irresponsible industrial activities or by heating, air conditioners, cigarette smoke, smoke, odors, ammonia, sulfur oxide, benzene and ethanol. In addition to cleaning, the material also has antibacterial action: it actively eliminates dangerous types of bacteria (such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus), which usually damage surfaces and coatings. They are also pathogens of potentially serious diseases.
How is all this possible?
It is due to the action of titanium dioxide (TiO2), which is applied to the plates at high temperatures. By simple irradiation with light, a photocatalytic process is activated, which is responsible for the anti-pollution and bactericidal properties of the material.
